Method 1: Side Button + Volume Up
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Press the Side button and Volume Up at the same time.
- Release both buttons quickly.
- A preview appears. Tap it to edit, or swipe it away to save.
Tip: Press and release quickly. Holding the Side button too long opens Siri or the power-off screen instead. The Side button is also the iPhone Duo’s Touch ID sensor, so a quick press is all it needs.
When the phone is open: the buttons end up in a different spot than on a regular iPhone, depending on how you hold it. If the grip feels awkward with the phone open, use Back Tap or AssistiveTouch (below) instead.

How Screenshots Work in Split View
iOS 27.1 brings Split View to the iPhone Duo, so you can use two apps side by side on the inner screen.
When you take a screenshot in Split View, it captures the whole inner screen, with both apps in one image. To keep just one app:
- Tap the screenshot preview.
- Drag the crop handles around the app you want.
- Tap Done and save.
Method 2: Back Tap (Easiest When the Phone Is Open)
Set it once, then just tap the back of the phone to take a screenshot. This is the most comfortable method when the iPhone Duo is unfolded.
- Open Settings > Accessibility > Touch.
- Tap Back Tap.
- Choose Double Tap, then select Screenshot.
